The ASUS Chromebook C300 Design Will Take Your Breath Away

The ASUS Chromebook C300 Design Will Take Your Breath Away

Expected to retail at just $249 when it goes on sale this month, the new ASUS C300 Chromebook has already caught the attention of many savvy shoppers.

But while the 13.3-inch model may match its smaller sibling, the C200, in price, aesthetically the larger model is by far and away the more stylish of the family.

Don’t believe me? Well you can see for yourself.  Industrial designer Benjamin Ehrenberg, who works at the Asus Design Center, has uploaded a set of stunning new C300 Chromebook photos highlighting its design strengths.

The images show a number of minor design differences to the matte black education version seen recently. The most noticeable of these is a dimpled texture running across the top half of the keyboard

Tasked with innovating design solutions that are “…aesthetically well crafted, [...] are integrated and intuitive, and that are sustainable”, I’d say the ASUS Design Center has fully met its brief.

The colour riffs off the bright white look in a way that has a faint echo of the first generation HP Chromebook 11, made in partnership with Google and released last year.

Price, Specs and Release Date
The ASUS Chromebook C300 is due to hit the usual retail outlets stateside sometime in June.

For $249 you bag a notebook powered by an Intel Bay Trail mobile processor clocked at 2.16GHz, 2GB of low voltage DDR3 RAM and a 16GB eMMC flash drive. Three colour options are to be available: red, blue and yellow.

An education model boasting twice the memory and storage is also being sold to consumers at a higher RRP of $329.
