Asus unveils “portable” 20 inch all-in-one PC with a battery

Asus unveils “portable” 20 inch all-in-one PC with a battery

Asus is no stranger to the all-in-one desktop space. But the company’s Portable AiO PT2001 is an unusual model nonetheless, thanks to its built-in battery, kickstand, and carrying handle which lets you pick up the desktop, carry it from room to room, and prop it down on a table (or fold it flat) for use with or without plugging into a wall jack.
Asus says you should be able to get up to 5 hours of battery life… which means you really could thing of the AiO PT2001 as a “portable” device… if your definition of portable includes desktops that weigh 7.1 pounds.

Dell also unveiled a battery-toting 19.5 inch all-in-one desktop today. But Dell’s model is an entry-level device with an Intel Bay Trail processor and prices starting at $350.
Asus hasn’t announced the pricing for its new AiO yet… but it’ll probably be a bit more expensive than that thanks to its support for features up to an Intel Core i5 Haswell processor and NVIDA GeForce GT820M graphics.
Other specs include a 19.5 inch, 1600 x 900 pixel IPS toucshcreen display, 4GB of RAM, and Windows 8.1 operating system. 802.11ac WiFi is optional, as is NFC support.
