Nokia Lumia Icon: the new Windows Phone flagship
5in 1080p OLED screen, 20MP PureView camera and metal construction are among this handset’s killer features
Nokia has torn the wrappers off a brand new flagship phone – but we’re not sure when (or even if) it’s coming to Singapore.
MIC CHECK 1, 2 (AND 3, AND 4)
The Nokia Lumia Icon runs, as you’d expect, on Windows Phone 8. It’s got a full metal body (we like), a 20MP PureView camera with Zeiss optics (we like) and four built-in microphones that capture much clearer audio than other smartphones (we like, assuming they’re telling the truth).
There’s a 5in 1080p OLED screen (that’s 441 pixels-per-inch), 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 32GB of storage (plus 7GB of free OneDrive cloud storage) and a 2,420mAh battery that supports wireless charging.
IS IT SINGAPORE BOUND?
The bad news is that at present Nokia has announced it as a US-only Verizon exclusive. There might well be some news on Asia availability and pricing come Mobile World Congress in February. As always, we’ll let you know.
